[WLANware] GSoC participant

Hello everyone

I know its late for introductions. But as someone said better late than
never. So here goes.

My name is Himank Ajmera and I'm a 4th year Electrical Engineering
undergraduate at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Specialising in
Communication & Signal Processing and pursuing a minor degree in Computer
Science.

Story:
I had been interested in Google summer of code but couldn't find any
interesting project (probably missed out on checking Freifunk's project
ideas). So I had dropped the idea of participating this year.
A friend of mine stumbled upon Freifunk and informed me about the same
given my interest and research in wireless networks (Networks in general).
I went through the ideas list thoroughly and found some of them very
interesting.

Moral of the story:
I will be happy to finalize one and submit a proposal before the deadline
(fingers uncrossed and typing continuously) for the same using your help.

Projects:
I find the project by ninux.org: 'A web-based video streaming application
for community networks' I can contribute well to. I have done the
groundwork and writing the proposal as you read this. Any advice regarding
this would be appreciated if any mentor is willing to take up this project.

Background: I had started developing in C. As part of my internships and
research projects in creating and implementing POCs I have experience in
constructing and consuming system and application APIs in Java.

2. I don't have the liberty of time to look into details but I can switch
to any of the following projects if you think have a more defined project.

a) I find all of the ideas for Netmon-SC project very doable but I see that
a few participants have already shown interest and probably have worked out
the details.
Question: I wanted to know if you will be assigning multiple projects to
individual student.
If not, I can pick any of the three ideas of Netmon-SC.

b) JSON for Networks module for LibreMap
c) wlan slovenija: all nodewatcher projects.
I just feel that my limited knowledge of Python and JavaScript can be
bottleneck for b) and c).

Requesting an urgent feedback from any of the mentors and looking
forward to finishing and submitting the proposal in time.
