I am interested in working on the project of getting Freifunk to work with 
netbooks. I am interested in a little bit more information. By porting, is 
it meant getting OLSR with a gui interface on common distributions (Windows, 
OS X, Linux), or writing a GUI for the freifunk firmware?

Some background about myself: I am a student at Georgia Institute of 
Technology, USA, studying for a Bachelors in Computer Science with 
specialization in networks and devices(embedded & mobile). I am also 
studying German, and will be in Germany for the next year studying 
Informatik and Deutsch.

I would greatly like to get involved in the project, as it is within my 
preferred area of computer science/informatics, and something I could see 
myself enjoying while working with it. Are there any good get started guides 
in English (my German isn't that good), and some simple things to work with?
