Hi All,
I've tried quite some googling and hunting but haven't yet found
anything on this (in English)...
I'm looking to try and establish a new Freifunk 802.11n network using
both 2.4GHz and 5GHz and was considering the Linksys wrt610n. As far
as I can see OpenWRT should run fine on it:
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=16733&p=8
The other nice thing about it is it takes 12V unlike other routers
which only take 5V; which should make it easier when it comes to solar
/ battery backup power etc.
Anyone have any results with 802.11 dual band equipment? Any
indicative throughput? I will be testing out a mesh of about 10 nodes
all within relatively close range of each other.
I will of course write up results on the wiki and do whatever I can
for documentation - already did a little work on the English pages /
getting started info etc.
Cheers,
-Mike
PS: Planning to use this for another One Laptop Per Child school
setup; all for the kids again :)
