Puh, that sounds a bit like implementing some kind of software   

Since you say that weimarnetz has such a default splash screen, could you send 
the scripts to the list (or a link to it on the www)? (only if it is not too 
much of a hassle)

Would be a cool feature 
if this could be available as an ipkg for the freifunk firmware (maybe as 
part of the gateway ipkg?).
